I’m pretty consistent and dialed in but when I have a new bean grind the density can change and it’s good to use this tool to check puck head room depth

Love this thing!

I genuinely can’t believe these aren’t already a standard thing — they’re so much more convenient than the coin test. Not only do they let you shave off any excess (which you can weigh and adjust for next time), but crucially, you can just carry on with the shot. With the coin method, you’re stuck re-WDT’ing, scooping out grounds, re-tamping, and then hoping you pass the test on the second go. Honestly, it’s not just a nice-to-have — it’s close to essential if you’re regularly dialing in new beans and actually care about headspace. Don't get me wrong, it feels 3D printed, but it is absolutely up to the job. A more premium option would be nice though.

It works.

Very easy to use, works great, makes dosing for a new coffee a no brainer. There is a larger variation in density of the coffees I am pulling than I thought.
