Custom Engraved Torch™ Flask

Beautiful, but heavy

The good: beautifully made. Excellent machining on all facets. Tight tolerances and screams 'quality'. The bad: heavy, small capacity and has 3 design flaws (one of which is engineering and no fault of the designer). Two fatal flaws are based on extended use of this product and will appear over time - the rubber gasket seals will fail and the spring in the top lid will fail. These failures will cause the flask to leak precious fluids and be tossed. The other design flaw is an annoyance - the magnetic lid comes off too easily. There's no fix for the gaskets - but having two on the product doubles the failure rate. (I would include an extra set with each purchase). I would redesign the lid so it 'clicks' on with a half turn, instead of a magnetic seal. Every time you reach for the flask you come up with lid, not flask! The weight and capacity issues are self evident and have a specific use case - small amounts of liquid carried as part of a larger eco-system. Who's it for: The connoisseur who appreciates a product beautifully made and understands it's limitations. Golfing: The golfer drives a Range Rover, or Aston Martin and has a cart golf bag. The attendant lifts the bag out of the car and places it in the golf cart. No need for the driver to exert themselves moving that weight around. Hiking/camping: The hiker has their own personal Sherpa. The Sherpa carries the flask up the trail and the hiker enjoys the contents restfully by the lake while the Sherpa sets up camp. The Sherpa then carries the empty flask back down. Who's it not for: Anyone who detests weight - cyclists, sailors, pilots, marathoners etc. Coffee/tea drinkers - not enough volume by far. Buy it again? - yes, I would as it is a very nice piece of kit and I have a Range Rover to drive it to the golf course.
