Excellent concept, a little finicky

Our son is 5yo and really into anything related to electricity. We've had fun building the plans that came with the set and a few of our own creations. I think our son is still a little young to really independently grasp the electrical and mechanical concepts himself and devise his own functional builds from scratch, but he can replicate what we've built previously and elaborate or branch off to some extent from there. There is a lot of potential for future exploration and increased understanding, and I think we'll get a lot of use out of this set. We've had two issues so far with the set. One is that some of the blocks have loose connections, so they either fall off easily or have trouble connecting the circuit fully/consistently. The other is that the connector prongs on the wires are extremely fragile and shear off with relatively little bending, which happens quite a lot with a 5yo. I think our requests for improvement at the moment would be: - the ability to buy individual parts, like an extra battery to be able to build more than one cord-free creation at a time - perhaps a specific guide on how to repair broken jumper wire connections - our son is really interested in connecting the gears to the motors and is fascinated by what can happen when you use different combinations of gear sizes. In addition to the very good explanations of electrical concepts that come with the kits, some additional kid-friendly guides to torque, leverage, gear ratios, etc., would be great, though I know this isn't the primary aim of the product.
