Disliked the roasted taste profile, "policy first" customer service wasn't helpful either

I purchased the Genmaicha and Hojicha after enjoying their regular matcha. Unfortunately, the roasted flavor profile in both wasn't something I could get through, even after several attempts. I reached out asking if I could exchange them for their regular matcha, a product I already purchase from them. The response was a polite but firm no, citing a blanket no return policy on food items. The policy is what it is. But for a brand positioned around quality and customer experience, the response felt transactional. No alternative offered, no goodwill gesture, just a firm response. If you're confident you'll enjoy their products, you'll likely have a great experience. But if you're trying something new and it doesn't work out, there's no safety net here, unfortunately.

Extremely nutty and toasty— almost like hojicha, but not as soft— more intense as well as more forward in its flavours. A new thing for me, but also something my hands, mouth, and tea set are getting very familiar with!

Strong roasted rice flavor

I really love the packaging, so pretty and well thought out! The powder it's self was so good, if you love regular genmaicha then this is a perfect powder for you ! It has such a strong roasted rich flavor when you add the water it carries through when its in a latte form.
