Emerald Delight Summer Squash

Slow grower, not very productive

Bought Emerald Delight for a change based on good reviews, but only collected disappointment. First, the seeds had a 30% germination rate. Second, the plants are vigorous, but slow growing. Third, they are not good producers, mostly male flowers. Female flowers were hand-pollinated to assure pollination. I have a successful track record growing squash over the years. Emerald Delight is my first disappointment. Won’t plant it again.

Produced many beautiful, delicious zucchini.... for some reason the borer didn't affect the plants as much as borers always do.

great short season zuc

Short season and cool nights here at 8600'. I use three plants started indoors and plant them evenly spaced in organic soil inside a 36" metal fire ring. Requires full sun but it's easy and productive! For early or late season temperature drops I toss on a frost cover (old sheet) when needed. This is the best variety I've tried for our cool, short season.
