Get ‘em on early.
If you get them on before the codling moths emerge in late May or early June, you’re good. Even then, having them on all my apples by the second week of June prevented the second emergence of moths in the mid-summer from laying eggs on the apples. You get into a rhythm of wrapping an apple and looping the rubber band around, and the time per apple is much less than the time taken later in the year to pare out the worm holes and frass. I’ve had more flawless apples this year than ever, and I’m going to re-deploy these earlier next year. My biggest gripe that out of seven bags, not one had 100 pieces. Some had 99, one had as few as 84, but none had 100 or more. In seven bags I had 677 total. After noting this in four bags, Territorial sent me a free bag and said they would look into it. I tried contacting the company, but their contact information on the bags didn’t work.

Great Organic Option
Good quality product. The sock-like bag is easier to use than paper bag alternatives. Even so, there is some finesse required to secure the bag to the apple stem without inadvertently removing the apple from the tree. Haven't tested the product through the season, so can't speak yet to concerns other have expressed about being an effective barrier. Anticipating its effectiveness, I plan to order again.

Apples saved!
Apple maggots ruined all my apples until I discovered these barriers. They really work and are worth the time it takes to apply them.
