Airtex Runner Hat

I had my doubts about this hat when I ordered it, especially regarding the styling of the hat with the front “panel”. But it’s grown on me and become a go to in my wardrobe of headwear for high activity outings. The light color (willow), vented side panels, and light fabrics may it cooler to wear and the sweatband does a decent job of soaking in perspiration. I particularly like the brim that flexes and rolls but retains its shape even after being stuffed into a backpack or luggage. As a result, it’s become my default travel cap and pretty much goes with me everywhere now, even when I’m just hanging around the house. I haven’t had it very long, but it seems well made and durable, and my wife will tell you it washes up nicely. (Which is high praise coming from her!) The only “complaint” I have is that it quickly shows an unsightly “sweat line” across the top of the brim. That’s likely a function of the fabric wicking moisture from the sweatband, and I’d rather have that than a hat that’s hotter to wear. But being as vain as I am, I wish it wasn’t quite so obvious, especially since I don’t seem to see it occurring with my Nike cap. (But that cap is hotter on the head.) Regardless, a good thorough rinse returns the hat to looking “new”. Highly recommended if you are looking for something a little different than your typical ball caps, and you want something lightweight and packable, but not floppy.
