Arbequina Olive Tree

Really nice, but…

I am very pleased with the Arbequina Olive tree I received. It already has a huge number of olives on it. While I understand the nature of the tree is a slender trunk with a wide canopy, I am reluctant to remove the stabilizing rod for the trunk, fearing the trunk will bend and possibly break. Any suggestion on how to tell when the trunk is strong enough?

Such a beautiful, healthy, and strong looking tree. It is sustaining quite well at this time. I am looking forward to an bountiful harvest.

A little olive that could. . .

The package came in great condition. The olive tree looked really healthy. Nevertheless, I'm doing my best to try to keep the little Arbequina alive here in Puget Sound Area. Since my orchard is on a hill facing south, the chances are possible, but the temperature was a tad cold when I planted it, but now that it's in the upper 70s. The little tree that could is struggling uphill but it's making it. I'm still keeping my prayer that it does make it along with its companion the Leccino.
