The purchase of polar vortex by korkers was based on my excellent experience gained from their top notch wadding boot: the river ops boa. If you are hesitant on pulling the trigger on these boots don't be; korkers have done very well here and should be commended. Here is what I like: Warmth 10/10, expect warm feet for at least 6-7 hours no matter the winter activity. Waterproof ability so far 10/10, I'm jumping in puddles and walking river banks no stop now. Comfort 8/10. you will need to add gel in soles when wearing the tripple threat carbide cleats. Traction . . . with tripple threat carbide cleats 10/10, others 7/10. Removing the soles when walking inside is awesome. Construction 9/10 , the soft foam is prone to tearing. Boa lacing system. . Not as good as the boa on the river ops but is adequate . Be sure to get the sole bag as it is the secret sauce of the system. These boots are the number one choice for any winter activities.

I took these boots to Nunavut in January. They were plenty warm enough and Hunter gave great advice on which soles to get for maximum grip and warmth. An extra size, in those extreme cold, allowed for more warmth to be held and proved to be a good idea.

Overall, very good boot warm, easy to take on and off absolutely awesome for ice fishing when you use the studded soles. I haven’t had a chance to test them in extremely wet conditions so far no problems in the snow.
