Bolt Duffel (Small, single compartment, canvass)
I've now used the bolt duffel (small, single compartment) for a few outings and I'm pleased with the quality, utility, and style of the bag. I was looking for a bag to better accommodate 1-2 day work trips, rather than a bag to bring in addition to my wheeled carry-on luggage. I originally ordered the large duffel, and found that it was a bit large and bulky for this need -- I would estimate the large duffel could hold anywhere from 4-7 days of clothing. For trips of that length, I'd prefer to opt for luggage instead of a duffel. I most recently used it when I needed to commute straight to a work meeting from the gym -- I packed my laptop, notebook, a change of clothes, a snack, and some toiletries, and everything fit, with a little bit of room to spare. While the front and back compartments appeared well equipped to hold a large water bottle, I found that my water bottle was drooping a bit in the pocket; I think those pockets are a better place to stow phone, keys, etc. on the go.
I chose the canvass with grizzly leather, and I am happy with this choice. The canvass and leather are attractive and have a quality, durable feel. The bag maintains its shape relatively well when empty.
Lastly, I had originally ordered the large duffel and decided to return it and instead order the small. In doing so, I found Waterfield's customer service to be responsive, professional, and effective.
Overall highly recommend this bag!
