Vortex Charcoal Basket

Mark, Im very impressed! The vortex arrived quickly and packaged very well. I burned it in right away in my bronco pro. Probes in the center and outer edge of the grate showed a variance of 8 to 11 degrees for 3.5 hours at 300°F. Thats exactly what I was hoping to achieve. Doing a couple beef plates tomorrow .

I’ve always wanted to build a UDS but never had the time. After hearing from word of mouth about drum smokers I decided to build one myself with Hunsaker parts Johnny Cash style … the basket is heavy duty, a 14# bag of cowboy brand briquette is just right.

Big improvement

Switched out the basket that came with my Gateway with the vortex basket. Big improvement. Even heat all around. No more hot spots no more rotating the grates. After attending Smoke Freaks Rib Camp and talking to them and seeing the Hunsaker in action I wish I had seen them before I got my Gateway.
