A definite upgrade, though increased snag factor (just be mindful… you are replacing a thinner and metal lever with a chonky polymer lever, which means more snag). However, I have this mounted on a SFP, which means the ability to go from 1-6 as quickly as possible (due to my reticle only being true at 6x), is vital. For this application, the increased drag factor is greatly outweighed by its benefit. Fun factoid, I threw this on a Vortex provided throw lever for my venom 1-6 SFP and also have it on the strike eagle 1-8 FFP, both of which do not include holes in the levers. I simply tightened this ECS1 enough to mark the throw lever (to indicate where the screw passed through), and drilled a 5/16 hole and the screw slides in nice and snug. This IS NOT HRF spec or advice, this is just me, a dude with no association to HRF, telling you a simple way to slap this on any vortex throw lever. All that to say… freaking do it!
