Tiny package-Big Storage
A little spendy, but totally worth it. I chose this because of its tiny size (about the size of a big fist) when you roll it up and cram it into the stuff sack which took up a tiny little corner of my travel backback. I had a two week trip in Peru. First 5 days was Cusco-Ollantaytambo-Machu Piccu. Plenty of space in the Freefly16 for rain jacket, extra sun shirt, sunscreen, lunch, and water bottle (stretchy side panel). The second part of the trip involved several water sampling excursions in remote parts of the Peruvian Amazon area out of Iquitos and Nauta. This backpack took a fair amount of abuse, sweat, and rain. It kept the inner contents dry during some heavy showers and the reinforced bottom stood up to all the dirt, rocks and tree roots that it was tossed on. The shoulder straps are a light but tough webbing material which was comfortable in 35 C/100% humidity weather. I thought I would use as a small item for trinkets and touristy stuff for the return trip, but I packed everything in my travel backpack, rolled the Freefly16 up tight and stashed it away in a corner. Great little bag for traveling light and day/overnight excursions.

Incredibly light weight and packs up small. Very usable and comfortable. My only complaint are the water bottle holders on the side. They are incredibly tight. It is a challenge to get anything larger than a 20oz bottle in them. I had to constantly fight with it to get the two bottles we brought into Red Rocks into the holders. Other than that, it's great.

Who knew I needed a packable backpack?
Never knew I needed a packable backpack, but it has been a huge help when traveling. I wish it packed into itself (it has a separate bag which I worry could get lost). Otherwise, it’s a good size, waterproof for light rain, comfortable. The outer compartment is useful. I can keep 3 warm top layers or rain jackets in this, has a water bottle sleeve. Sturdy so far after several long days of use.
