Interesting head trip, rewatch required
A very interesting throwback horror film with meta commentary on Britain's infamous video nasties era and a look at how the loss of her sister has impacted the central character Enid. It's fun to think and feel yourself into the position of someone who is tasked with or has chosen to censor the very films we love, even if I, personally, don't count myself among the full-on gore hound crowd myself. Enid and her colleagues seem to both want to protect young children from getting their hands on certain films and having the ability to rewind and rewatch gruesome scenes, but they also see themselves as savior mediators between what the censorship rules demand and what the filmmakers are trying to give their audience. This gets to be quite the head trip at times and I think I need to rewatch this at some point to fully wrap my head around it.
