Helix Elite Midnight and Sunset- 2 Twin XLs in a King Base

I selected the Helix Elite because I liked the 2 section design, specifically that you could change out the top section (topper) rather than the whole bed to adjust the feel and later on replace the top if it starts to wear. The review videos showed it to be well constructed. I initially selected the Midnight Elite which is med firm, the recommended firmness out of 6 available. The Midnight Elite is very comfy to get in, great for back sleeping. My wife loves side sleeping on it, but I have lower back pain after a couple of hours sleeping on my side even with a knee pillow and body pillow to help. I was disappointed since it is so comfy. I switched my side to the Sunset Elite which is softer for side sleepers and kept my wife on the Midnight Elite Helix didn’t think two twin XL toppers would work in a King base to get the different comfort levels and sent me two twin XL setups for a split King I read dealers have done this so tried the two twin toppers in the King base and they fit perfectly and returned the two twin bases After looking at my pictures, Helix approved the setup for the full warranty Helix Customer Service has been awesome working over several exchanges I was still having some discomfort. Very minor. The Cool layer is made up of a Graphite foam layer with Kikko Graphite strips on top. You can feel the strips through the top cover of the topper when the mattress top is unzipped. So using a heat gun, I removed the strips ( I can put them back) and everything is good now. Very important to use a heat gun if you want to remove them to avoid damaging the foam. My wife doesn’t have any issues, so we left the Graphite strips on her side. Finally, My wife loves the Midnight topper on her side and the Softer sunset on my side is awesome and has removed any backpain while I sleep. After years of searching, I have found the setup that works for me.

Helix Elite

It is an upgrade from the Beauty rest we had. This mattress has Definitely improved our sleep. We are both side sleepers and I love the softness and comfort of the mattress. My hip still hurts some nights but I refuse to have a more firm mattress, which is what is recommended. This mattress is heavenly and my dogs love it too.

Pretty good

Mattress is pretty comfortable. I was hoping that it would be a bit more forgiving on my shoulders. I would assume a soft mattress would feel like a cloud and this doesn't. I have neck problems so hoping with more time it breaks in and gives as much as I was hoping for.
