KUIU Pack Rain Cover – Stone

I purchased the Pack Rain Cover in Stone with the intention of pairing it with the Scout 1000 pack in Ash. While this cover is not specifically sized for that pack, I decided to give it a try anyway, and I am very glad I did. Although the fit is not perfectly tailored to the Scout 1000, particularly around the straps and overall geometry, it still performs its primary function very well. With a bit of adjustment, it provides solid coverage and stays in place during use. For anyone considering a similar setup, it is absolutely workable even if it is not a perfect match. As expected from KUIU, the material and construction are outstanding. The fabric feels durable and well-made, and the craftsmanship is consistent with the rest of the KUIU gear I own. It inspires confidence that it will hold up in harsh weather conditions. Visually, the Stone color pairs extremely well with the Ash pack, creating a clean and cohesive look. That was an added bonus I appreciated. My only real feedback is that I would love to see KUIU offer a rain cover specifically designed for the Scout 1000 pack. If they release a properly sized version, I would absolutely purchase it without hesitation. Overall, even though it is not a perfect fit, it is a high-quality piece of gear that gets the job done and meets the standard I expect from KUIU.

For years, I always carried a garbage bag in case I needed it for a rain cover. While hunting in Argentina, all day in the rain - I realized you can’t wear the pack in a garbage bag. This cover is light and super small. Get one and do it right.
