Skife Knife

This is the second skife knife I've purchased. The first one I bought was a different style. However, of the two knives, this is my favorite one. I'm still learning to use it, but it's much easier to maneuver and cut excess leather in layers than the first style knife I purchased. I'm not thrilled about it because it's not consistently good at cutting through all leather. After using this on a large piece of veg tan for five minutes, the blade stopped slicing through the leather. Not sure why.

It’s a decent skiver but if you’re trying to shave down anything with a little fluffy suede, you need to take several passes before it’ll grip the leather enough to shave some off.

Pretty handy tool to have on the bench.
