Daggerheart Core Set

Amazing!

I love Daggerhearts mechanics and it’s been really fun creating characters with my friends along with creating a world in Daggerheart. The duality dice have been my favorite thing so far, along with the constant back and forth the GM has with the players due to the fear mechanic. I would absolutely recommend this for experienced D&D players and beginners.

Great for new and old players

Daggerheart is a great way to introduce your friends and family to TTRPGs. The flow of the game is very smooth thanks to its narrative-first approach, allowing players and not just the GM to tell a story. The use of the duality dice for players allows they to have more predictable outcomes and is great for GMs in determining what difficulty check to provide in a scenario. The use of Hope and Fear as a resource is really innovative, and allows the GM to feel more involved as a “player” by utilizing a resource such as Fear. One thing the game does sacrifice ( sacrifice here is an exaggeration) is the use of math crunch systems found in Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) and Pathfinder, I feel that the narrative-first approach limits that for certain playgroups but not all. Don’t worry if you love the math crunch, you’ll get to do some of it.

My Partner and I Love It!

For a couple months now my partner and I have been looking to try a new TTRPG outside of DnD and Pathfinder. One day I came across the 'Get Your Sheet Together' playlist and after watching every video I was immediately hooked. Upon buying the core boxset and working with my partner to make our characters, we can honestly say that this is a great start for beginners of TTRPGs and long time veterans that want story rich campaigns and rewarding mechanics for both the players and the GMs alike. Thank you CR for this amazing game and we look forward to what's in store for Daggerheart in the future!
