As a former customer of Berkey, the STRESS of priming the filters is OVER! PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY! That blue thingy did not fit the nozzle on our kitchen sink! The BR nozzles were too close to bowl base! 🤦 And ALLL the other suggestions had water squirting everywhere! We literally had to find someone we knew who had a nozzle that fit that dang blue thingy! Then there's the stress of taking those filters away from your home which can compromise keeping them sanitary! GO BOROUX! I'm 73 and this was EASY to set up and to do! It's worth the extra expense!

Boroux Automatic Filter Primer
If you own a gravity water filter, you already know the worst part of filter maintenance: priming. Standing at the sink, pressing filters against the faucet, water spraying everywhere, arms getting tired — it's the chore nobody warned you about. The Boroux Automatic Filter Primer basically makes that whole ordeal disappear, and I'm kind of mad I didn't buy one sooner. Would I recommend it? 100%. It's one of those accessories that seems unnecessary until you try it, and then you can't imagine going back. If you already own a Boroux (or really any gravity filter system), this makes the whole ownership experience noticeably better. Rating: 5/5 — it does exactly what it promises, does it well, and takes a genuinely annoying chore off your plate.

Fast Filtration
I have been using this type of filter for my drinking/cooking water for probably over 30 years. I have never had a reason to be displeased. But the latest crop of four filters have left me baffled. In the past with a new set of filters it would take about six hours for six quarts of water to flow through. I would then decide that it was time for new filters when it began to exceed 24 hours to complete the same task. With my latest set of filters I've got six quarts of water ready to go in less than 30 minutes. I must wonder how good of a job is being done in such a short period of time. How much filtration is taking place? They just seem too good to be true.
