Tough Coat

Not a fan. It is difficult to apply evenly. Even with the recommended applicator, it leaves marks. I'd rather have a glossier finish as well, but the matte is specified for use with lighter colors. I didn't paint or coat the backs of my doors. The tough coat on the rail behind them sticks at the corners even after curing for days.

I bought the sponge sold specifically for applying this topcoat and with each dip into the topcoat and swipe onto the wood, a foamy bubble line formed. I watched the video to make sure I understood how to apply this and followed it. No mention was made of the foaming issue. I switched to my softest brush (Syntox by Purdy) to apply this and with each lift of my brush, bubbles formed. I am really disappointed in this product. I am using it to topcoat a desk surface as I wanted good protection. I have no doubt that it is going to give a hard protective surface, but it is nearly impossible to get a smooth finish.
