Received a pair PB5000 in perfect condition replacing 7 year old dual PB3000s for dedicated home theater. The 3000s hit, but these 5000s are on a whole different level. Hits hard, subsonic chair and body vibrations, pressurization of my closed 2500 cubic foot room is awesome. The subs make it all seem effortless. Build quality is always excellent with SVS as is customer service. Worth the upgrade and puts a smile on my face every time. Not sure I can say the same for the neighborhood.

Beast of a subwoofer
I went back and forth between this or the PB4000 for several months and finally pulled the trigger during Black Friday. I ordered one to replace my PB12+ (farfield) and PC12+ (nearfield) configuration and see how it worked within my 3100cuft r room before thinking about a second one. The first thing I noticed is the size difference between my PB12 Plus and it, side by side. On paper it doesn't look like much, however in person it's much larger. I first swapped out my PB12+ with this in the same location and disconnected the PC12+, then re-ran the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 on my Denon 6200W. I turned up the volume 5db through the app. Something I did on my previous subs since the default was way too underwhelming. Then proceeded to start with the movie 'Fury' and jump to one of several tank fight scenes as a starting point. It was at that point that I realized the magnitude of this Subwoofer. I ran through the gamut of movies and scenes that I typically do when tuning a new set of speakers or subs and this thing shook the room and the house with ferocity. The tanks, Machine Gun fire, Dinosaurs, Lightsaber duels, Space ships and jets sounded like they were happening IN the room like I've never heard before. THIS is what I was after for the past few years. That said, I will say that there seemed to be something missing in certain scenes that I had before and so I rolled out a PC and REW software with a Umik-1 Mic to find out. Sure enough I had several peaks and nulls often associated with just having one sub and with the help of the Parametric EQ's in the app, was able to flatten those out. Very high praise on that ability The subtleness of the sub in some scenes and the visceral impact on others is just amazing. I now get bass in seating positions that were lacking with the two sub setup before. For reference I do use the isolation feet. I think those are a game changer so that it doesn't shake your walls and floor to the point of crumbling. I may get another one this coming Black Friday to help smooth out the response even more, but for now it's plenty, which has surprised me. I've since backed off the volume another 3db so that my neighbors, 30 feet on each side of my house aren't hearing it too, even with acoustic treatments.

An amazing product
I’ve been in the audio retail business for over 40 years. I have demonstrated and sold many Products. But when it comes to my own personal equipment, I have many choices. I have auditioned Many subwoofers for my home theater system. I have chosen SVS. They offer many products at very affordable price points. First: The sound and build quality is superb. Second: They have a phone app which is very consumer friendly, making setup a breeze. Third: There technical support team is very knowledgeable and will provide you with much needed Time to help you with setting up your system. Fourth: The app allows you to create presets for Audio and Video playback. My choice is SVS and I think it should be yours as well.
