A Sweet Start That Took a Turn
Lost In Paris opens beautifully—there’s no denying that. The first spray is bright, sweet, and almost mouthwatering, with citrusy orange notes wrapped in caramelized sugar and buttery warmth. It genuinely feels like stepping into a Parisian dessert shop, with that rich gourmand glow that Roja does so well. For a moment, it’s exactly what you’d hope for: indulgent, smooth, and luxurious. But unfortunately, that moment doesn’t last. As it develops, the fragrance takes a sharp turn—and not in a good way. The citrus that once felt sweet and inviting starts to come across much harsher, almost chemical. On my skin, it shifted into something that honestly reminded me of mosquito spray or a kind of cleaning product. It loses that edible, cozy quality and becomes surprisingly off-putting. Interestingly, some wearers have also picked up on a similar effect, describing parts of the citrus as having a “window cleaner feel,” which aligns closely with that sharp, synthetic impression. The dry-down doesn’t fully recover from that shift either. While there are still traces of the warm vanilla, woods, and spices underneath, that earlier harshness lingers just enough to take away from the experience. What started as a rich, decadent gourmand ends up feeling disjointed and difficult to enjoy. Final impression: Lost In Paris begins with real promise—sweet, elegant, and delicious—but for me, it quickly veers into something overly sharp and chemical that makes it hard to wear. It’s a fragrance that starts beautifully, but unfortunately doesn’t stay there. I would think for the astronomical price of this fragrance, that could have done better.
