Alaska guide.
After more than 15 years in the guiding industry, I’ve worn just about every major wading boot on the market, and the Skwala RS Wading Boot has quickly become my top choice. I spend 8–12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for roughly 128 days each season guiding throughout Bristol Bay, Alaska. From the Togiak River to the Kenai River, these boots are put through some of the harshest conditions imaginable—slick river rocks, jagged shorelines, muddy banks, and endless miles of walking. The first thing that stands out is the comfort. Long days on the water are much easier when your feet aren’t aching, and the RS boots deliver all-day support better than any boot I’ve worn. Durability is equally impressive. The exterior takes a beating against sharp rocks and rough terrain, yet continues to hold up all season. Traction is outstanding on slippery surfaces, giving me confidence whether I’m wading fast-moving rivers or navigating slick lake shores. One feature I particularly appreciate is the lacing system—the laces stay tight all day and don’t constantly loosen up like many other boots I’ve used. For professional guides, serious anglers, or anyone who spends significant time on the water, these boots have earned a permanent place in my gear lineup. When your livelihood depends on reliable equipment, the Skwala RS Wading Boot delivers. In my opinion, it’s a must-have piece of gear for anyone fishing the rivers and lakes of Alaska.

Love the boots , I’ve been smashing the box canyons on the rio grande and the slippery rocks of the brazos and chama. But please come out with your own studs… as i had to purchase 2 separate brands to find the ones that have the right bight

Solid boot.
Comfortable with great grip. Glad I didn’t add studs before trying them out. They worked really well and a long day wading my feet felt great. I’m sure they will only improve as they break in.
