First Trip with Durston X-Mid Pro
I bought the X-Mid Pro 1, set it up in the backyard a couple times just to get the setup down and then went backpacking for 6 glorious days on the Bigfoot trail in Northern California. Super easy setup, a little bigger footprint than my 2 person Big Agnes, but Huge vestibule, and lots of room for a 6’ 5” person! There were 3 of us on this trip, all with different types of Durston tents, and we were referred to by some other hikers as the “Durston Gang”. Love the tent!

Sweet spot between tent and tarp.
Long time user of the non-pro version of the X-Mid 1, thought to try the pro version to really dial in my fast-packing kit as an alternative to roughing it under a small tarp (which didn’t offer enough protection). Thought I’d be making some sacrifices with the lower weight and simplified design over the non-pro version with the seperate inner - not the case at all. It’s probably more prone to condensation, but so is any single walled tent. Plenty of room to store gear inside the fly even with the 1P. It’s clear why this tent is so popular.

Durston
In my 75 years I've never experienced customer service like I have from Shayne at Durston. He provided expert advice on everything from free standing vs pole supported, technical fabric info, how to use various guy line tensioners, simple knots that may come handy during the pitch, big rock/little rock and stick subs for difficult to stake terrain and more. I've pitched the X Mid Pro several times but have yet actually taken it on the trail yet. If the tent performs anything like the customer service I've experienced, it will be second to none.
