Every bit as good as hyped
Finally used my new X-mid 1 (solid) for the first time on a wildcamp on Dartmoor. An absolute doddle to pitch and an insane amount of space - vestibules and headroom. For other UK based folk unsure on whether to get the solid or mesh, I’d say the solid is still quite mesh-y and the solid fabric sections are very thin - I’m very happy with my choice. I might have to get the X-mid 2 as well for those times when I can convince my wife to come along too.

Great value, lots of space
I have both the 1p and 2p version of these now. This review is for the 1p solid inner. The sleeping space is great, the vertical walls make it feel quite spacious and there’s lots of head room. The two very large vestibules with doors on both sides give plenty of room for gear in one side and space to cook in another. The tent is by far the easiest trekking pole tent to pitch that I’ve seen. I haven’t done this yet but I think if you’re in mild weather without bugs, this would be an amazing ultra ultralight shelter without the insert just using the fly. All at a price point much less than many other UL tents. Super happy
