Better Than Expected
I’m not really one to leave reviews, but I was thoroughly impressed with the X-Mid 2. Set up was a breeze, everyone in camp was jealous. The rain was miserable throughout the duration of our trip in the High Uintas and yet we stayed totally dry. I can’t wait for our next adventure next week in Wind Rivers to test it once again! Don’t think twice, just go for it, it will exceed your expectations.

Very lightweight, great to pack
Backpacked about 26 miles with this in Alaska, very lightweight, easy to pack, enjoyed having another use for my trekking poles as well. Only thing is that it’s not very rain proof, had to cross 2 rivers for the trip and unfortunately it got soaked— didn’t really dry that well afterwards but oh well. It’s also very fast and easy to set up thankfully.

Could be a little better
The tent is nice, but I wish it was made with just a few extra things. In the top of the rain fly where the trekking poles are placed, there is only a small hole for the tips of the poles. It would be so much better if there were a couple of straps to wrap around your trekking poles to hold it in place. The first time I used the tent, one of the poles slipped and tore through the rain fly.
