Honestly, it feels a little weird when you first open it up. It was hard to open, then locking it into the fixed open position felt odd. But that's ok, you're just breaking it in! Once you use it, it's dangerous. You kind of want to keep opening bottles of wine!
My only gripe, and the reason for 4 stars is my "scales" didn't sit flush on one side. I can see a gap through one side. While I'm being super nit-picky here, this thing isn't cheap. And well, I expected perfection!
Overall, if you like "gadgets," a wine key that functions uniquely and something that might even be a conversation piece, it's worth a purchase!

It is The BEST Wine Key
The double-hinged design gives you effortless leverage on any cork, and the longer angled handle actually fits your hand. The foil cutter is sharp and clean no tearing, no fussing. I've tried a dozen wine keys over the years and this one has earned a permanent spot in my drawer.

Truly the best
This is the second one I've purchased (first for myself and subsequently for a friend)--it is easy the best wine key I've used in 25+ years of collecting wine.
