Bolt Action Pencil

Not horrible, but room for improvement

The pencil isn’t horrible, but there is definitely room for improvement. The small details have potential to make his pencil go from “OK” to “great!”. The action for the bolt for the tip is smooth; however, the little “hump” that keeps the bolt in place while advancing the lead is too small. The slightest pressure towards the left while advancing the lead causes the bolt to turn and the tip to retract. The internal action inside the bolt for advancing lead is very gritty and rough. When examining the bolt while advancing the lead, you can see the interior portion of the bolt tilts and rubs while adding pressure to advance the lead. There needs to be even pressure pushing down on the internal portion of the bolt to prevent the movement and rubbing. These two details make the pencil cumbersome to use at times.

Great pencil

I bought this pencil for writing in my journal. It’s such a great pencil. I love that it came with the option to choose the lead size. I love 0.9mm lead and this pencil comes with the inserts to use 0.5, 0.7, & 0.9. One thing to note is that the ad says that it has an optional eraser. While it is optional the description isn’t totally clear but the eraser adapter is included in the box. I wish I had known that before I ordered one. But that’s on me not BID. If you like writing with a pencil you’ll love this one!

Best mechanical pencil I’ve owned

I love mechanical pencils, and the build of this one is by far the best I’ve owned. 10/10. Can’t recommend enough!
