Good grill…with a few annoyances

This is a very good grill. The amount of space is great…I can easily cook for a crowd. It also fires up faster than my Traeger and the 40lb hopper is massive. The grates slide in and out, which makes reconfiguring a breeze. And, as others have noted, this thing is solidly built. There are a few things that would make this a great grill: 1) The cap on the smokestack has a sharp edge which catches on and tears the cover. This is easy to remedy, but I feel it should come from the factory already smoothed out. 2) The bullhorn handles are great aesthetically, but they tend to get hot. The handle on my Traeger was never hot to the touch. 3) The controls, while very easy to use, are also easy to bump. The grill starts up with a simple press of the power button. That should require a long press of the button to avoid being unintentionally bumped. Similarly, the temperature control can be easily bumped and change the set temp. I feel this should require pressing one of the buttons to select the set temp after setting with the dial. 4) The app, while usable, lags behind other pellet grill apps in functionality. Live Events, which allow information to be displayed on lock screens, etc. in iOS are not supported as of this review. There is a simple widget available, but it is not very useful. It would also be nice to have the timer displayed on the same screen as the grill and probe temps rather than having to go to a separate screen to see/set the timer. Overall, this is a good grill. There are a lot of things I like and a few things I wish were different.

Without a doubt the best grill I have ever purchased and I have been grilling a long time. I slow cooked ribs for most of the day and the temperature stayed right on the setting. Love it.

Grill holds heat very well. Not sure I like having to climb under grill to empty drip pans, and they take up space as well. But overall I love my grill Would definitely recommend!!
