Full disclosure: I'm using these pivoting shore cups for support on an outdoor deck. They're massively overbuilt for this purpose, but when combined with buttressing and hammer beam supports, I have isolated the stairs/ramp area of my deck to the point that, if the framing would support it, I could drive a car up onto the deck.
The design, fit, and finish of these products is top-notch. You'll never be sorry for doing business with such a fine company.

I incorporated this pivoting shore cup into the design of my second story deck. I used it as a support member at the attachment point for a post buttressing a hammer beam.
These folks make these parts for shoring up excavations and tunnels in deep shaft mining operations.
They're massively overbuilt for residential construction uses, but if you're anything like I am about safety margins and the desire to never have to revisit a potential problem, you can't do better than Ellis Manufacturing for your attachment and shoring needs.
