Playing with a three year old
Because the concert from a card picture to an object was too difficult for the young child, I made the block design to follow. Because stacking was difficult for the youngster, we laid them flat. The child enjoyed the blocks. He enjoyed looking at the blocks sides and figuring out how to match my example. Later he just enjoyed building with the and stacking them to see how high he could go and learning that stacking them flat was easier than stacking them all standing up. I bought the game because I planned on playing it with a family group of adults and children but haven’t had a chance to really play it as a game. I think it is a good and enjoyable learning experience for even a very young child and I look forward to playing it as it is intended. I will have an advantage because I am already familiar with the patterns on the blocks. I would suggest if there are very young children using this with them as described above so they become familiar with new concepts and then move ahead playing with the pattern pictures rather than the actual model and then playing flat before moving to stacking. These can work in many different ways and seem suitable for a wide variety of ages

Love, love, love Blockwork
This game is so much fun! My great grandkids love it. We have to play it every time they come. The kids are 5, 4, 3 and 19 months! Thank you for your great games!
