American Scrape Oboe

These reeds make it easier to practice daily!

I am newer to the oboe, and a doubler. Having reeds that are always ready to play make it easier for me to get daily practice in on the instrument, and to continue to make progress on the instrument while maintaining time on my other horns. Additionally, for quick changes in the pit, or situations where cane isn't the easiest to deal with, this has been a game changer! Definitely reducing barriers to playing for me, and hopefully for other musicians who are excited to spend more time playing than working reeds. I will say, the tone is definitely not quite as good as cane for me, but in gigging situations I have not heard anything but positive reviews of my playing on it. Thank you!

I use this reed to play in my community orchestra. It’s easy to play, and I appreciate not having to have a soaker cup! I can get about 3 months of reliable use from each reed. The convenience is worth it!

Great for doubling

I bought this because I am playing a show where I have to switch often and quickly between oboe and other instruments. Not having to soak the reed is a lifesaver, and it feels close to a cane reed. The tone is nice and stable.
