After testing the VacDaddy on multiple pools this season, here are my honest observations as a service technician: 1. Motor Under Water Creates Excess Turbulence Because the motor sits underwater, it produces a lot of turbulence around the head. This stirs up debris instead of allowing it to settle into the vacuum path, which makes it harder to get a clean pull in shallow areas or on fine debris. 2. Performs Best in Deep Ends Only The unit works noticeably better in the deep end where the water column is stable and the turbulence doesn’t interfere as much. In shallow areas, the disturbance from the motor reduces suction efficiency and pushes debris away. 3. Works Well When Vacuuming to Waste Where the VacDaddy does shine is when vacuuming to waste. The flow is strong, and for heavy debris jobs or pools that need a partial drain, it performs well. It’s useful as a specialty tool for certain situations, but not ideal as an all‑purpose daily vacuum. Overall Opinion It’s a decent tool for specific scenarios (deep ends, vacuum‑to‑waste jobs), but the underwater motor design limits its effectiveness for general weekly service, especially in shallow areas or when trying to avoid stirring up debris.

Works great! Picks up all the small bits on the bottom of pools. Only thing I wish the body of the Vac Daddy had was a handle. It's hard to maneuver and hold without a handle. Otherwise, great!

Worked but it is a workout when i first used it. It is pretty heavy. Maybe causej my pool is big and also 8’ deep.
