X-Dome 2 & Customer Service
I am very pleased with customer service. My first order was lost with Amazon Logistics, and I waited for the tent for many weeks. I was curious about where it went. I emailed Durston and they were quick to resolve my order. I received my X-Dome 2 and am very pleased. I did a lot of research on the tent before I purchased it. In past communication forums and YouTube videos around the world there was concern about strong winds hitting the head and/or foot of the outside tent. Durston must have corrected the issue and placed a guideline anchor on both ends. Now, I believe this tent will hold up to anything. This tent will be used mainly for Backcountry hunts in Alaska and Idaho.

I feel like this tent takes into account every complaint I’ve made in the backcountry with freest...
This tent is honestly the best free standing tent I’ve ever used. There are so many little things that are thought of that most tent manufacturers forget. First off, what a genius idea to have the pole stake in and pull out the vestibule so you can have a vestibule without stakes! That has been my biggest complaint about other freestanding tents is only the tent is actually freestanding but you still have to stake out a vestibule. Not this one. Yes you can get more room if you stake it out but it’s not necessary. Also all the different ways you can pitch this tent is genius. Fly first, no problem, inner first, no problem. Fly and inner for stargazing, no problem. Also let’s talk about the room in the tent. I’m 6’4” an most 2 person tents are more like a one person tent for me that I could never fit anyone else in. I could comfortable fit 2 people in this tent with plenty of room. Heck, if it’s raining, people could comfortably sit in her to socialize, play cards, whatever while it’s raining. Great job Dan Durston!

Great tent, only got wet once
Bought this as I have always gotten a two person tent as i need the extra room (i like to startfish when i sleep) and having all of my gear in my tent is a non negotiable for me. This tent has done phenomenal the few times ive been able to take it out by myself. Luckily i set it up in the backyard a few times first as it took a bit as i havent had a reverse pitch tent before. Getting the ground sheet and rain fly connected to the tent the first time took my wife helping pull things apart though. First few times using it was great, im 6' (183cm) and had plenty of room. The problem came when my wife joined me in a trip where we had a freak thunderstorm overnight. The rain was coming down hard enough that it was splashing under the rain fly and into the actual tent itself. I dont know if that comes down to me not guying things out correctly or just bad luck in weather but neither of us got any sleep that night from the weather and getting splash back the whole night. Overall though besides one bad time its a phenomenal tent. dan if you read this you should "steal" the vestibule tub that nemo has cause that would make this a 10 out 10 ten. (all our stuff was muddy under the vestibule but what can you do in severe weather)
