Xteink X3 Pocket eReader

Fine tuned rating: 4.5. I'm really happy with the X3 - the small form factor including weight make it easy to carry around and I'm definitely reading more than I did with my old Kindle. The connection to Calibre makes it pretty easy to work with, especially after switching the OS to crosspoint. Cons: I seriously struggled with buying this because of the one key missing feature: USB-C. Xteink informed me that there was no way to build it this size and have USB-C, but I'd happily add a millimeter or 2 of width to make it match the one standard that the rest of the world seems to have finally come to agreement on. While I love the weight, I've had a few times where I pulled the phone out of my pocket and it dragged the x3 out to drop to the ground. No damage (grateful for the screen protector, too!), but it's so light I almost didn't notice, so I'm trying to retrain myself to be more thoughtful when pulling things out of my pocket. I'd love to use the magnet system, but I have to choose either a finger loop ring or the e-reader, so until I find a way to have both, I'm in fear of losing the Xteink and not noticing until it's too late. The balance of writing makes it seem like the cons are real problems, but they're more inconveniences. A few finicky people might consider deal-breakers, but for most people it's just good to be aware of before buying.

As long as you're ready for a tiny bit of a learning curve to get Crosspoint set up, I'd 100% recommend. My phone scrolling has taken a dive. As long as I have a good book loaded up, Im way more interested in sneaking in a few more pages than the infinite scroll. Quality seems good, I really like the physical buttons to turn the pages, and the battery life so far is stellar. A week of casual use and I'm only at about 80%. Slim size easily sticks to the back of my Iphone Air and makes it easy to bring everywhere. While I was initially worried the size would make it tough to read, we sit and look at our bright, smudged phone screens all day and dont even think about it. This e-ink screen is way nicer to read. Highly recommend.

Great. But I would recommend the slightly bigger one. Just because flipping the page breaks reading flow. And with the tiny screen you flip often. But it's super practical and absolutely readable even with aging eyes.
