Apollo Lantern

I love this Black Diamond Apollo Lantern, and it has easily become a staple in my outdoor setup.

What Works Great: Glare-Free Lighting: The frosted globe diffuses the beam beautifully. At maximum brightness, it easily lights up an entire picnic table or tent without blinding anyone sitting nearby. Smart Leg & Hook Design: The foldable legs lift the lantern off wet grass and dirt, keeping it clean. The dual-hook loop at the top also makes hanging it inside a tent or from a tree branch completely hassle-free. Dual-Fuel Versatility: Having both an internal rechargeable battery and the option to pop in 3 AA batteries gives huge peace of mind on longer trips when charging isn't available. Smooth Dimming: Long-pressing the power button allows for smooth, custom brightness adjustments, which is great for saving battery power when you only need a low nightlight. Things to Keep in Mind: Weight & Volume: At around 300g (10. 5 oz), it is a bit bulky and heavy for ultralight backpacking where every ounce matters. Basic Power Bank Capabilities: The USB output is handy for emergency phone boosts, but it charges too slowly to replace a dedicated power bank.

Nice lantern for table or tent.

This is a really nice small lantern to use in your tent with the built in hooks to hang it from. Provides a nice light for reading or organizing fishing tackle for the next days fishing. It also works really well as a table light for picnic table or camp table, provides enough light to eat or do basic stuff at camp. Battery last a long time and being able to charge other devices from it is a nice bonus.

Great lantern

I keep this in my van for late-night light since it’s so easy and dims so nicely. I also like that it can be used as a powerbank; I’m excited to take it on a backcountry trip coming up for that reason! The only downside is that the charger is micro USB; it would be nice if it was USB C.
